Pathways to College is pleased to announce the appointment of Eboneé Lewis to its Board of Directors for a three-year term.

“Ms. Lewis shares our passion for expanding access to opportunity through higher education,” said Judith Berry Griffin, founder and president of Pathways to College. “Her perspective as a role model for African American students is invaluable to our children.”

Lewis is associate general counsel – employment in the Law Group at Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical device company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. She was recently awarded the Corporate/In-House Sector award by the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association at its annual Women in Law Leadership Gala.

Her celebrated career includes positions with increasing responsibility at BD as well as Littler Mendelson and Gibbons P.C. She earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in political science, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University.

“During the selection process, it became clear that Ms. Lewis is dedicated to helping others,” said Timothy Koller, chairman of the Board of Directors at Pathways to College. “I look forward to working alongside her and benefitting from her leadership, experience and skills.”

Hallmarks of Pathways to College include a focus on high school students of color living in under-served communities; a 100% college acceptance rate for graduating Scholars; and applicant selection based on potential, not standardized test scores or specific prior performance. The Pathways family of Scholars and teachers creates a warm and compassionate, safe and accepting learning environment.

High school students of color in grades 9-11 may apply to Pathways to College.

Donations to put additional Scholars on the pathway to college are currently doubled through a matching gift opportunity from the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation.
