Pathways to College Awarded Eighth Grant from Episcopal Diocese of Newark (New Jersey)

Pathways to College has been awarded an Alleluia Fund for Outreach grant worth $6,750 from the Episcopal Diocese of Newark for the organization’s work in Essex County, New Jersey. This is the eighth year of the Diocese’s investment in Pathways.

“The Episcopal Diocese of Newark continues to serve as a steadfast partner for uplifting families through the power of preparation for higher education,” said Judith Berry Griffin, founder and president of Pathways to College. “We could not be more appreciative of this ongoing support from the Diocese for Essex County’s children.”

The grant supports the National Scholars Program (NSP), a blended-learning, discussion-based after-school program currently in Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. The NSP uses the research-based Pathways curriculum to help Scholars develop the habits of mind for success in college and in life, including courageous leadership, global citizenship, and critical thinking. Bringing Scholars together from different schools, the NSP encourages positive friendships across community lines.
